In 2016, Morenci Area Schools contracted with Family Medical Center of Michigan to provide behavioral tele-health services to the students attending Morenci Area Schools. Clinicians, with parental consent, are with elementary students on Tuesdays and with Middle/high school students on Mondays. Students can be referred to physicians or psychiatrists as the need arises.
Three years ago, Morenci Area Schools added additional counseling services through Parkside Family Counseling. Two counselors work with students two days each week in both the elementary and middle/high school.
Morenci Area Schools wishes to add more services by having counselors available to meet with students this summer. To determine if there is a need for counseling please complete the online survey by Friday, May 13, 2022 to allow the district to assess the school wide need.
