The City of Morenci is proud to continue the Hometown Hero Banner Program and extends sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the 2025 program. Each banner displayed throughout the downtown district serves as a visible reminder of the service and sacrifice of our local Military Service Members and Veterans. We are honored to partner with the Morenci American Legion to carry this meaningful tradition forward.
The 2026 Hometown Hero Banner Program will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4. Applications will be available at City Hall and on the City of Morenci website at that time. A total of 40 banner locations are available, with 30 placements along Main Street and North Street for the first 30 applicants, followed by 10 additional placements on Orchard Street and Baker Street.
Individuals who participated in the 2025 program may renew their existing banners for a $30 fee, provided the banners remain in good condition. Please note that early applications or reservations will not be accepted, and participation in prior years does not guarantee placement in 2026.
New banners for first-time participants or those wishing to purchase a replacement banner will be available for $150. These customized 18” x 36” banners help support the ongoing efforts of the Morenci American Legion.
