Construction continues on the Morenci Fire Department’s new burn lab training facility located behind the DPW building at Wakefield Park. The multi-story structure will provide a dedicated space for hands-on firefighter training in a controlled environment.
Recent work included setting the third and final story of the facility, completing the exterior container placement. With all containers now in place, the project will move into the interior build-out phase, including the cutting of training windows.
This training facility is being constructed using grant funding and generous donations.
The Morenci Fire Department would like to recognize and thank Jeff Batanian, Batanian’s Tree Service for crane assistance; Gary Beaverson, Metal Methods for fabrication and cutting services; Morenci DPW and the Morenci Firefighters who assisted with the installation. Their support has been instrumental in advancing this project.
Once completed, the burn lab will serve as a valuable long-term training resource, strengthening firefighter readiness and enhancing public safety for the Morenci community.
