The Morenci Town & Country Festival returns May 28-30 for another exciting weekend of community fun at Wakefield Park. Residents and visitors can look forward to carnival rides, live music, tournaments, contests, food vendors, family-friendly entertainment, and one of Morenci’s favorite summer traditions.
Whether you want to participate in an event, join the parade, compete in a tournament, or simply enjoy the festivities, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Below is a list of festival events that require sign-up or participation, along with available details and contact information.
Royalty Contest
Held Thursday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the SW Pavilion/Stage. A longtime festival favorite for local youths and families. The are four age divisions from newborns to 18 years old, with a new 65 years and up division added for 2026. Registration forms are available at City Hall and online here.

Pickleball Tournaments
Pickleball returns to the tennis courts on Friday and again Saturday afternoon. A great opportunity for players of all skill levels to join the fun.

Festival Parade
The annual parade will take place Saturday, May 30, at 10:00 a.m. Floats, local organizations, businesses, and community groups are all welcome to participate. Registration forms are available at City Hall or online here.

Little Tykes Mud Drags
Held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. on the east side of the park. A fun and popular event for younger participants.

Vendor Fair
Food vendors, merchants, and community vendors will be available throughout the weekend. Businesses and organizations interested in vendor space are encouraged to register by May 9. Registrations forms are available at City Hall or online here.

Men’s Softball Tournament
Men’s softball games will take place throughout the weekend on the softball diamond at the center of Wakefield Park.

In addition to these events, festivalgoers can enjoy Native Amusements Carnival Company all three days, DJ and karaoke entertainment, live music from Stealin’ Copper on Friday night and Crossing Woodward on Saturday night, a silent auction, chicken BBQ, beer tent, Morenci Fire Department vehicle extrication demonstration, and fireworks at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.
