Whether they realize it or not, they depend on adults who work tirelessly to ensure they have the resources to learn, safe and welcoming buildings, and qualified teachers to guide them.
Behind this work stand the true superheroes of public education: our Morenci Area Schools Board of Education members (Heather Sarnac, President; Jodi Kruse, Vice President; Josh Erskin, Treasurer; Rebecca Berger, Secretary; Trustees Art Erbskorn, Perry Cox, and Kristy Betz). These servant leaders are ordinary citizens who volunteer extraordinary amounts of time, energy, and care to support our students, staff, and community. Their role requires deep commitment, establishing a shared vision for the district, creating systems to achieve that vision, ensuring accountability to the community, and continually advocating for improved learning opportunities for all Bulldogs.
The responsibilities are significant. The hours are long and the recognition is often far too rare. School board members navigate complex decisions that impact every classroom, every teacher, and every student. In Morenci, our trustees approach this work with passion and purpose, valuing their service on the board as part of helping shape the future of our community.
