Morenci Area Schools will host an important informational event for families titled “Cyberbullying and Sextortion: Awareness, Legal Consequences, and Police Investigation” on Monday, May 19, at 6:00 p.m. in the MS/HS Library.
The presentation will be led by Trooper Dillon of the Michigan State Police, who will provide insight into the growing concerns surrounding cyberbullying and sextortion among youth. The session will cover how these issues impact students, the serious legal consequences involved, and how law enforcement investigates these cases.
Families will also gain practical strategies to help keep their children safe in today’s digital world.
“This is an important opportunity for parents and guardians to better understand the risks students face online and how we can work together to keep them safe,” said Jennifer Ellis, Superintendent.
The event is open to parents, guardians, and community members. While not required, RSVPs are encouraged to assist with planning materials.
For more information or to RSVP, please contact Morenci Area Schools or visit the district website.
