🎈 Balloons Over Broadway Project 🎈Our 3rd graders had a wonderful time studying Balloons Over Broadway! After reading the story, they put their creativity to work by designing and building their very own parade balloons.

They wrapped up the project with a school-wide parade, proudly showing off their imaginative creations. They worked hard, collaborated beautifully, and brought so much joy to our hallways! 🐾✨

Our Jasper Johns art project is officially complete! Students studied the Army veteran and artist’s iconic American flag collage, learning how he layered newspaper, hot beeswax, and oil paint to create his famous work. Using his techniques as inspiration, our young artists created their own newspaper American flags from start to finish, and they look incredible! 🎨✨❤️🤍💙

Beaks, food, and lots of curiosity! 🐥Our 1st graders learned how animal traits help them survive by trying out different “beaks” to see which ones could pick up which foods. Science is so much fun! ❤️🧪

🎶 Morenci Band Visits the University of Michigan! 🎶

On November 4, our Morenci Band students had the incredible opportunity to participate in a special clinic and workshop at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance! 💙💛

Throughout the day, students worked alongside Dr. Colleen Conway, members of U-M’s Instrumental Methods courses, and Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) students, receiving expert feedback, hands-on coaching, and inspiration from some of the nation’s top music educators and performers.

Students performed in a clinic, toured Revelli Hall (home of the famous Michigan Marching Band 🥁), and took part in sectionals with college musicians who shared practical tips and encouragement. The day wrapped up with an incredible live trombone performance by a DMA student! 🎺

This was a truly inspiring day of music-making, learning, and connection, an unforgettable experience for our Bulldog musicians! 🐾🎵

Our sophomores spent the day at the LISD exploring programs that support a sustainable future 🌱 They learned how these pathways prepare students for success beyond high school and discovered certifications that can give them a head start in their future careers. Hands-on learning and real-world exploration at its best!

The following students were presented with a TRADES award during the first marking period of the 2025-2026 school year at the LISD Tech Center.

Positive TRADES are a key component of LISD Tech Center curriculum, constituting 15% of the students' grades. These students have demonstrated teamwork, responsibility, attitude, dependability, effort, and safety in their respective programs.

The fifth graders took on The Empire State Building Challenge! 🏗️ During STEAM class, students engineered and built their own mini versions of the iconic skyscraperlearning about its history, the “Sky Boys,” and how teamwork and resilience shaped this symbol of hope. 🌆💪

🎶 Four Morenci High School students, Katelyn Ruse, Tessa Zuvers, Harrison Sarnac, and Sean Sawyer, proudly represented the Bulldogs at the Lenawee County Honors Band performance held at Adrian High School! 🎵 Led by guest conductor Dr. Pam Klena from Oakland University, the group spent the weekend rehearsing and performing alongside talented musicians from across the county. 👏 #MorenciBulldogs #BulldogPride #LenaweeCountyHonorsBand
