Students in Mrs. Zuver’s Financial Literacy class took a trip to the University of Toledo, where they explored real-world money management through a Finances 101 budgeting game and visited tables hosted by area businesses. 🍿 After a long week of hard work, Mrs. Stowell’s 8th-period students got to recharge with a special class activity — watching *Of Mice and Men* (1992) with popcorn and soda. 🎬 Not only was it a chance to relax, but students also tied the film back to the book with an assignment afterward.

Lady Dawgs Claim Addison Varsity Tournament Championship!

The Morenci Lady Dawgs brought home the title this weekend, powering their way through the Addison Varsity Volleyball Tournament with grit, teamwork, and determination.

After pool play, where they topped Sand Creek and split with Addison, the Dawgs entered bracket play ranked second. They carried that momentum into the semifinals, sweeping Reading in two sets before battling hard against Onsted in a thrilling three-set championship match.

Standout performances across the board fueled the victory. Lauryn set the tone with an impressive 42 assists, along with 2 blocks and 9 digs. Colbie dominated at the net with 20 kills and 5 blocks, while also recording 12 digs. Addyson was a force on both sides of the ball, delivering 11 kills, 8 aces, 3 blocks, and 11 digs. Emersyn added depth to the attack with 4 blocks, 4 kills, and 14 digs, while Emma chipped in 8 kills, one block, and 11 digs. From the back row, Callie anchored the defense with 14 digs.

It was a team effort from the court to the bench, showcasing the energy, resilience, and Bulldog spirit that make this team so special.

The Lady Dawgs are led by Head Coach Erin Ekins and Volunteer Coach Sarah Wilkins, whose guidance and leadership continue to inspire the team’s success.

🍽️🔥 Masterchef in the Making! 🔥🍽️ Mrs. Grondin's 8th-grade students took on a Masterchef Challenge in class! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 In small groups, they planned a meal, created a grocery list, and brought their dish to life in the cooking lab. 🍕🥪🍝 From spaghetti and chicken alfredo to French toast, grilled cheese, pizza, pasta bake, and more, the kitchen was full of delicious creations! 😋 This hands-on activity helped students learn how to plan a menu within a budget and gain valuable cooking skills.
