🎉🏆 A huge congratulations to Renae Schaffner for being named Assistant Coach of the Year by the Michigan HS Softball Coaches Association! 🏆🎉 Renae has been an integral part of our coaching staff for 33 years. Her remarkable journey includes leading Morenci to consecutive softball state championships in 1985 and 1986 as an All-State pitcher. Renae's athletic prowess continued at Hillsdale College, where she played both basketball and softball, earning All-American status and later being inducted into the Hillsdale College Athletic Hall of Fame. From her humble beginnings as a volunteer coach over three decades ago to becoming an invaluable leader on our staff, Renae's dedication and passion for coaching are truly unmatched. Her attention to detail and ability to motivate our athletes have played a pivotal role in our program's success.

After high school, she plans to pursue a degree in digital marketing. Rowan is the daughter of Brian Shaffer and Ms. McDowell. Tyler describes himself as goofy, well-spoken, and friendly. She intends to run track in college and study architecture. Leah is the daughter of John and Andi Rorick. Donovan describes himself as dedicated, funny, and nice. He plans to become an automotive technician after graduation. He is the son of Tony and Terri Powell.
