Miss Whaley’s 3rd and 7th hour students took on an exciting hands-on learning experience this week as they dissected sheep brains to deepen their understanding of the nervous system. 🐑💡
Students explored the different parts of the brain, compared animal and human brain structures, and discovered how the nervous system gathers and processes information throughout the body. While a few thought the process was a little gross, they loved the responsibility of using sharp tools with precision and identifying key structures.

Our Middle School math students in Mrs. Grondin’s class took on the Bake for a Cause Challenge, and they absolutely rose to the occasion!
To complete this project, students had to:
📘 Find a recipe
➗ Calculate ingredient amounts
💲 Stay within a budget
🍽️ Bake their treats
🎁 Package them for sale
Not only did they put their consumer-based math skills to the test, but they practiced teamwork, problem-solving, and responsibility every step of the way.

It is incredible to see them work together to reach a goal… I admit that I got choked up as I watched them help one another throughout the process. This year’s 8th-grade team raised $210 and is donating their profits to our Morenci Nightlight program. I am SO proud of them and SO thankful to you for funding our Bake For A Cause event.”

Lady Dawgs Claim Addison Varsity Tournament Championship!
The Morenci Lady Dawgs brought home the title this weekend, powering their way through the Addison Varsity Volleyball Tournament with grit, teamwork, and determination.
After pool play, where they topped Sand Creek and split with Addison, the Dawgs entered bracket play ranked second. They carried that momentum into the semifinals, sweeping Reading in two sets before battling hard against Onsted in a thrilling three-set championship match.
Standout performances across the board fueled the victory. Lauryn set the tone with an impressive 42 assists, along with 2 blocks and 9 digs. Colbie dominated at the net with 20 kills and 5 blocks, while also recording 12 digs. Addyson was a force on both sides of the ball, delivering 11 kills, 8 aces, 3 blocks, and 11 digs. Emersyn added depth to the attack with 4 blocks, 4 kills, and 14 digs, while Emma chipped in 8 kills, one block, and 11 digs. From the back row, Callie anchored the defense with 14 digs.
It was a team effort from the court to the bench, showcasing the energy, resilience, and Bulldog spirit that make this team so special.
