Morenci Middle/High School

Our students had an incredible opportunity to tour the impressive facilities of Planewave in Adrian and North Star BlueScope Steel in Delta, Ohio. They got firsthand insights into manufacturing careers and listened to workers sharing their experiences. We would like to thank both of these companies for allowing our students to partake in these opportunities.

🎉🏆 A huge congratulations to Renae Schaffner for being named Assistant Coach of the Year by the Michigan HS Softball Coaches Association! 🏆🎉 Renae has been an integral part of our coaching staff for 33 years. Her remarkable journey includes leading Morenci to consecutive softball state championships in 1985 and 1986 as an All-State pitcher. Renae's athletic prowess continued at Hillsdale College, where she played both basketball and softball, earning All-American status and later being inducted into the Hillsdale College Athletic Hall of Fame. From her humble beginnings as a volunteer coach over three decades ago to becoming an invaluable leader on our staff, Renae's dedication and passion for coaching are truly unmatched. Her attention to detail and ability to motivate our athletes have played a pivotal role in our program's success.

Homecoming King and Queen Spotlight! Meet the fantastic nominees Leah Rorick and Donovan Powell Leah described herself as easy-going, caring, and goofing. She intends to run track in college and study architecture. Leah is the daughter of John and Andi Rorick. Donovan describes himself as dedicated, funny, and nice. He plans to become an automotive technician after graduation. He is the son of Tony and Terri Powell.

After high school, she plans to pursue a degree in digital marketing. Rowan is the daughter of Brian Shaffer and Ms. McDowell. Tyler describes himself as goofy, well-spoken, and friendly.
