We are thrilled to announce that Harrison Sarnac, one of our exceptional students and French horn players, has been accepted into the 2024 Michigan MSBOA Middle School All-State Honors Band! This prestigious accomplishment reflects Harrison's dedication, talent, and hard work in the field of music.
The Michigan MSBOA All-State program, established in the 2005-06 school year, recognizes outstanding musical achievement among students across the state. The selection process is highly competitive, involving recorded auditions for five distinguished ensembles: a Middle School String Orchestra, a Middle School Band, a High School Full Orchestra, a High School Band, and a High School Jazz Ensemble.
To earn a place in these ensembles, students like Harrison must demonstrate their musical prowess by preparing an announced etude, a series of scales, and participating in a sight-reading session during each 10-minute recorded audition. Impressively, each audition is submitted anonymously, identified only by a number, ensuring a fair and unbiased evaluation by expert adjudicators.
It's worth noting the significance of this accomplishment, considering that approximately 2,500 students audition each year, vying for only 400 seats in the five ensembles. The process culminates in January when selected students gather for two and a half days of rehearsals led by nationally recognized conductors. The grand finale is a spectacular concert held on the Saturday of the Michigan Music Conference.
Please join us in congratulating Harrison for his outstanding achievement and representing Morenci Area Schools at this esteemed musical event. We are incredibly proud of Harrison and his dedication to musical excellence.
๐ฆ๐ May your day be filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of cherished moments. Grateful for the blessings of family, friends, and the abundance of joy in our lives. Happy Thanksgiving! ๐๐
