Tomorrow, May 13th, at 1:30pm Morenci Area Schools will be performing a district-wide ALICE drill. Students will have the process explained to them ahead of time by our staff and they will have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have. Law enforcement will be present to monitor the drill. More information about what an ALICE drill is, what our staff will go over with students, and how you can talk about this drill at home can be found on the district webpage under DISTRICT INFORMATION.
Parents of Morenci Band members, if you have not yet received the information sheets and permission form for the Cedar Point trip, please ask your student for these tonight. The permission form must be turned in to the office or Mr. Murray by Friday, May 13th.
🚨Morenci Community Members-The Little League is looking for volunteers 13 years old or older to help in the concession stand. They are at risk of having the stand closed on game nights as they don't have any volunteers stepping up. Reach out to a couple friends and volunteer together as a friends night out. The purpose is to gather information from a wide variety of stakeholders on the qualities, characteristics, background and experiences desired for the next Superintendent. A special board meeting will be at 6:00 p.m.

Morenci Area Schools has contracted with MLI (Michigan Leadership Institute) to assist with the Superintendent Search. Mr. Charles Andrews, from MLI, will be in the district on Wednesday, May 4th to meet with our staff and community. The purpose is to gather information from a wide variety of stakeholders on the qualities, characteristics, background and experiences desired for the next Superintendent. An open community forum will be tomorrow, May 4th at 5:00 p.m. in the middle school library followed by a special board meeting at 6:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

Superintendent Search Community Forum
Due to the unexpected winter-like weather tonight's varsity softball and baseball games have been cancelled. Practices for MS Softball and MS Track ONLY have also been cancelled for this afternoon. All other practices will take place as planned.
8th and 9th grade students and parents are invited to attend the Morenci Branch Campus Middle College Enrollment Meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Middle School Library. Please enter through the Middle School gym doors. If anyone is unable to attend the meeting, but is interested in enrolling, contact the superintendent's office at 517-458-7501.
