Due to the unexpected winter-like weather tonight's varsity softball and baseball games have been cancelled. Practices for MS Softball and MS Track ONLY have also been cancelled for this afternoon. All other practices will take place as planned.

8th and 9th grade students and parents are invited to attend the Morenci Branch Campus Middle College Enrollment Meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Middle School Library. Morenci's 4th Grade Bulldogs hosted a wax museum right before Spring Break. They did an amazing job with their presentations! Check out our highlight of their work!

Morenci Area Schools received notification this morning that the air samples from the asbestos abatement have passed! The elementary gym will be back in action on Tuesday morning.

Morenci Area Schools would like to dispel the rumors that the school yard was hit with vandalism over spring break. The alleged vandalism was done by Somerset Crane Service last Monday. Somerset was hired by Adrian Mechanical to set the rooftop units on the high school roof. After the lifts were completed, the crane and trucks had to be pulled out of the yard, thus tearing ruts into the yard. Adrian Mechanical has contracted with T & R Total Lawn Care, LLC to repair the yard and T & R will begin the repair once the weather cooperates.

The athletic boosters will meet tomorrow (4/11) at 6:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.

Morenci Areas Schools delivered 103 Spring Break meal packs to students in our community through a partnership with i92 Ministries.

Attention Parents! Report cards were sent home for all Middle and High School Students Wednesday and will be sent with Elementary students tomorrow. Please remember that tomorrow, Friday, April 1st is a half day of school with dismissal at 11:30. Morning Tech students will be dismissed from their tech classes early so that they will be back in time to catch their bus rides home. PM Tech students are welcome to attend Tech classes if they are able to self transport.

The district has contracted with T&R Total Lawn Care to apply herbicide to all athletic fields on Monday, April 4th. All areas will be marked for easy identification and MSDS sheets are available on our website, morencibulldogs.org.


EARLY DISMISSAL & PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE INFORMATION
Reminder: Classes will be dismissed at 11:30 on both Thursday and Friday this week and that students will be served lunch before dismissal. AM Tech students will be leaving the Tech Center early in order to be back to the school in time to catch their bus ride home. Busses will not be available for PM Tech students, but they are welcome to still attend if they are able to self-transport.
Parent-Teacher conferences are being held tomorrow, Thursday, March 17, from 12:30 - 4:00 and 5:00 - 8:00PM. All conferences will be in person this year unless a zoom or phone conference has been specifically requested by the parent or guardian.
Elementary parents, if you have not yet done so, please schedule a time for your conferences using the Signup Genius link on your child's Class Dojo.
Middle and High School parents, conferences are being held in the middle school gymnasium as in years past. Please check in at the Middle School office for your student's folder before proceeding to the gymnasium.

Save the Date for the Class of 2022 Graduation Commencement on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. and Baccalaureate will begin at 2:00 p.m. More information and details will be shared at a later date.

COVID-19 Update for Wearing Masks: Effective February 25, 2022, CDC does not require wearing of masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs. Therefore, the wearing of masks on Morenci Area Schools buses is optional and not mandatory.
