Morenci Area Schools has contracted with MLI (Michigan Leadership Institute) to assist with the Superintendent Search. Mr. Charles Andrews, from MLI, will be in the district on Wednesday, May 4th to meet with our staff and community. The purpose is to gather information from a wide variety of stakeholders on the qualities, characteristics, background and experiences desired for the next Superintendent. An open community forum will be tomorrow, May 4th at 5:00 p.m. in the middle school library followed by a special board meeting at 6:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

The middle school softball game and varsity track meet have been cancelled for tonight. Varsity track will practice right after school and middle school softball practice for tonight is cancelled. Middle School softball will practice tomorrow from 3-4:45 PM on the softball diamond.

This morning the students at Morenci High School got to witness a mock accident. This was a very real-life situation for our students to witness as they consider how to stay safe over Prom weekend, and everyday while on the roads! A big thank you to the Farrah Ryan, Morenci Fire Department, Morenci EMS, Morenci Police Department, Eagle Marry Funeral Homes, Mercy Life Flight, City of Morenci and the senior class volunteers.

Tomorrow, Morenci High School will be hosting a Mock Crash Event for high school students to reinforce the importance of using seat belts and driving safely as well as show the consequences of distracted driving. Tonight's baseball game at Manchester and the softball games at Pittsford have been cancelled due to the heavy rains earlier today. Middle school softball practice has been cancelled, but middle school baseball will go on as planned. Varsity softball and baseball will be practicing at 3:30 PM on the diamonds.
