Mr. Rupp and Colsen were all dressed up for the Tall Tale presentations in 6th grade English class.

3DPT Physical Therapy will be hosting a 2023/2024 sports physical clinic on May 12th at Morenci High School from 8:00 am – 10:30 a.m. The cost is $15 and proceeds are used to benefit school sports programs. If you would like to have your child participate please complete the MHSAA physical form with all signatures and payment to the office before the clinic. Cash or check payable to 3DPT Physical Therapy will be accepted. Physical forms are available in the MS/HS office.

Kindergarten Signing Day was a HUGE success. Our next year's kindergarten students are committed to Morenci!! Bulldog families: Possible storms are expected to begin rolling through our area during school hours tomorrow, Wednesday, April 5th. We want to reassure families that Morenci Area Schools has a storm preparedness plan that includes running drills. All buildings and departments will monitor the situation and stay in close communication throughout the day. We will reevaluate our plans and make any adjustments as necessary. If there are any necessary changes to our dismissal plan, families will be notified by email, text, and alert calls. Please join us for our Kindergarten Roundup Signing Day on April 13! Bring your child in to officially sign as a Junior Bulldog. Each child will go home with Bulldog swag including a t-shirt, a squishy bulldog, and a book. To qualify for DK or kindergarten, a child must be 5-years-old on or before September 1, 2023, or by December 1, 2023, if a parent chooses to sign the waiver. Parents should bring their child's birth certificate, proof of residency (utility bill, lease agreement, etc.), and proof of immunizations. An informal assessment of readiness skills and a health department hearing and vision exam will be administered at the kindergarten roundup. Saturday, April 15, marks the 18th Annual Dinner and Auction to benefit the scholarship fund of the Morenci Education Foundation. Since the organization began, they have awarded over $141,250 in scholarships and grants to deserving graduates and teachers at Morenci Area Schools. The 2023 Distinguished Alumni are Linda Watters-Shadbolt ('61), Jerry VanHavel ('83), and Nathan L. Elarton ('83). This year's event theme is "Helping to make a difference for generations to come" and is dedicated to Larry and Joan Gould for their dedication to Lenawee County. Andrew Whitehead ('07), head chef at The Table on Fulton in Wauseon, OH, will be cooking dinner for the event. The popular and energetic auction of goods created and/or donated by local residents and Morenci alumni will follow. A sampling of items to be auctioned include a tablecloth by the late Carma Sutton, a breadbox by Maurice Simpkins, and a wreath by Patti Arquette. The dinner buffet begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Morenci High School Cafeteria. Tickets cost $30 for an individual or $50 per couple and can be purchased online at www.morencieducationfoundation.org or by mail to MEF, P.O. Box 38, Morenci MI 49256. The last day to register is Saturday, April 8.
